The chaparral is hot and dry in the winters and mild and wet in the winters, but don't worry because you will be coming in May - a month that is on average 50 to 65 degrees fahrenheit in the Chaparral. Also, make sure to bring binoculars because you should get ready to see a plethora of animals, from alligator lizards to to jack rabbits. While hiking you can also see the majestic black sage and the vibrant monkey flower. You will have an amazing experience planting native species, visiting a dairy farm, and even building your own go-cart to learn about and prevent the threats to the Chaparral.
